Seahawks Trounce Cardinals, Win 4th Straight Division Title
SEATTLE, Wash - Matt Hasselbeck threw four touchdown passes today as the Seattle Seahawks clinched their fourth consecutive NFC West title with a 42-21 victory over the Arizona Cradinals.
The Seahawks stormed to a 24-0 lead midway through the second quarter and cruised to their fifth victory in a row - their longest streak since an 11-game run two seasons ago that helped the Seahawks reach their first Super Bowl.
Hasselbeck completed 22 of 33 passes for 272 yards and no interceptions to stay on pace for team records in attempts, completions and yards. He is completing 63 percent of his passes and has 11 touchdowns with just three interceptions during this winning streak Arizona suffered a career-high five interceptions from quarterback Kurt Warner, who was also sacked five times.
The Seahawks' Patrick Kerney had three sacks for the third time in four games. He leads the NFL with 13½ sacks. The victory improves the Seahawks' record to 9-4. Their next game is next Sunday at the Carolina Panthers.
