KENNEWICK, Wash. - The meadow park apartments off 4th Avenue in Kennewick are in the middle of a complete makeover to change their image and help the residents feel more safe.
They've joined the Criminal Resistant Community Living Program which helps train apartment managers and owners on safety concerns.
The owners of Meadow Park Apartments are now installing more lighting, security cameras, and new door locks. Apartment manager Laura Gonzales says she can already feel a difference. "We also do have an extra extreme screening process for the new tenants and we're extra careful on who rent to."
Police say if you think your apartment could use some changes, ask your landlord or managers if they're involved in the program.
