At least two injured in school bus accident

Posted: Updated:

Yakima, WA -  A West Valley school bus collided with a red sedan at the intersection of the Zier and Dazat Roads.

The Sheriff's Deputy on scene says the car ran a stop sign.

No students were on the school bus and the bus driver wasn't hurt, but firefighters had to tear off the roof of the car to get to two people inside.

They were both taken to a local hospital with what the Sheriff's Deputy says were non-life threatening injuries.

Some people on scene said they believed that three people were in the car, but the sheriff's deputy could only confirm to.

West Valley Superintendent Peter Ansingh says he did not know if the people in the car were West Valley students.

Traffic had to be blocked in all four directions near the accident for about two hours.
