Level Three Sex Offender Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Late Saturday night police officers saw a woman being grabbed and pulled behind a van.
It happened at the corner of Kennewick and Cascade. When police tried arresting 36-year-old Adrian Christopher Vigil, he ran away.
Vigil is also registered as a level three sex offender. He was found again near Canal and Benton.
Police say the suspect was not cooperative and they had to use a taser to make the arrest. Officers say they're glad no one was injured.
"Our officers try to be in that area because you have a lot of people leaving the bars and people been drinking and sometimes they do things that aren't so bright," said Brian Swartswalter, Kennewick Police Sergeant.
Registered sex offenders at level three are considered most likely to re-offend. Police say the woman does not know the suspect and was not seriously injured. The man was arrested for Attempted Kidnapping and Resisting Arrest.
