Boater Registration Card

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- As New Year's approaches, so does a new law requiring some people to pass a new boater registration course.

Beginning January 1st, all Washington boaters between 12 and 20 years old will have to carry a boater education card when operating a boat of 15 horsepower or greater.

The cards costs $10. On the 1st of January in 2009, people 25 and younger will have to have the card. As each year passes, older and older people will be required to have it.

Boating classes will be offered in the Tri-Cities beginning in January.
