Big Box Retail Gets The Okay To Move Into Ellensburg
ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The decision is in... regional retail gets the okay to move into Ellensburg. Thursday afternoon a judge dismissed an appeal to stop big box retailers from moving to the area. Part of the big debate has been the fear of regional retail taking customers away from Ellensburg's historic downtown area. Mayor Obie O'Brien says stores like Target and Best Buy could start building by the end of next year. That's on the nearly 70 acre plot of land by I-90 interchange in Ellensburg.
