YAKIMA, Wash.- A Yakima man is stepping forward with a new idea for a temporary worker program he says will help cut down on the number of illegal immigrants working in the Yakima Valley. Kent Lundgren is the National Chairman of Former Border Patrol Officers. He says he's not a big fan of guest worker programs because there's too much room for error, and many times it's how illegal immigrants make their way into our country.
Instead he's pushing for a dosmetic worker program that would look to American workers to fill the needs of local employers. Kent says this domestic worker program is going to take a lot of work, but hopes to have something in place within the next five years.
