Posted: Updated:

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. -- Benton County Coroner Rick Corson spent most of Friday conducting a preliminary autopsy of Elizabeth and Ellen Schalchlin after they were killed Wednesday night.

The coronor stresses this is a preliminary report. From their first review, he says the daughter Elizabeth was killed from a single knife wound on her neck and she died from a loss of blood.

And the mother, Ellen died from multiple stab wounds, although he would not describe how many, he did say they covered her whole body: her head, torso and arms and legs.

The coroner is now waiting for a toxicology report.
