SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) -- Jon Brockman had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds today and Justin Dentmon came off the bench for 18 points to lead Washington past Cal State Northridge 80-66.
Vonoy Overton added 14 points and Tim Morris had 13 for the Huskies, who improved their record to 7-4. The Huskies, who hit just one of the first eight shots in the second half, finally drained five in a row during a 13-1 scoring run that helped them expand a 58-54 lead to 71-55 with 5:11 left inthe game.
The lead never slipped below 12 the rest of the game. With just two more non-conference games before the start of Pacific-10 play on Jan. 5 against Washington State, Washington used a starting lineup of Brockman, Joel Smith, Ryan Appleby, ArtemWallace and Morris. That group is 3-0 when they start together.
Washington trailed just twice, both times within the first four minute of the game, and led by as many as 13 during the first half.
Northridge came in averaging 41 rebounds per game, but had just one in the first 10 minutes, as the Huskies shot 7-of-11 and grabbed seven offensive rebounds during that span. For the game, Washington had a 42-29 advantage on the boards.
