Icy Conditions Cause Several Rollover Accidents

Posted: Updated:

MOXEE -- Yakima Sheriff's responded to several rollover accidents Monday morning, one of which was in Moxee, pictured to the right. The accident happened at about 9:00 a.m. on Konnowac Pass Road.

Sheriff's deputies say the driver was going too fast for the road conditions and skidded onto the bank when he hit a patch of ice. The driver was not injured and was able to drive the car away once it was towed back onto the road.

Sheriff's deputies responded to six rollover accidents before 10:00 a.m. and are warning people to slow down over the holidays.

Deputy Scott Sallow says to remember be cautious when driving in icy condition. The Sheriff's Office sees an increase in DWI accidents over the holidays so it's important to always have a designated driver.
