Roadways Stay Safe This Christmas

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Police in Kennewick report no collisions or DUIs this Christmas day.

Traffic officers say during the holidays people tend to spend most of the day indoors and will be going out at night. So far they're glad there have been no major problems.

"Everybody seems to be obeying the law, which is what we want," said Brian Banner, a Traffic Officer for the City of Kennewick. "We want everybody to have a great day, a great holiday and it's just not today it's everyday, that we want people to respect each other out on the road and drive safe," he said.

Officers expect to see more traffic on Wednesday as people get ready to do some after holiday shopping.

Several mall entrances will blocked off. Police say they're trying to get people in and out as safe as possible.
