PASCO, Wash.-- If you're not sure yet how you are going to ring in the New Year there are a couple of ideas you might want to consider. First Night Tri-Cities 2008 is bringing local entertainment to town once again this year.
Almost 6,000 people are expected to attend. Organizers say there's always a good turn out, because this event gives people a way to celebrate the new year in a fun and safe way.
"It's an alcohol free, family entertainment evening, so the people don't have to be involved in those circumstances where the people are drinking around them, even if they don't drink themselves," said Tom Powers, President of First Night.
And some of the entertainment will include Vocal Trash as the headlining group, and also the Gothart sisters. There will also be face painting, and crafts for the kids in the family. So far over 100 volunteers have signed up to help out.
First Night will be happening on new year's eve at CBC campus. The event will start at 6 pm and will last til midnight. But the Kids Zone will be open as early as 2:30pm. You can buy tickets for $8 in advance on the website and $10 at the door.
