PASCO, Wash. - If you plan on celebrating the new year with alcohol, police want to warn you - "Don't drink and drive".
Law enforcement is adding extra officers to their patrols. They'll be looking for drivers under the influence. If you get caught drinking and driving you could have your license suspended, pay thousands of dollars in fees and fines, and spend time in jail.
"I think it's important that if you're out consuming alcohol tonight that you make prior arrangements to get yourself home safely or that you make plans to stay where you're at," said Sgt. Brent Cook, Pasco Police Department.
Officers also remind you drinking and driving is not only dangerous for you, but it's also dangerous for everyone around you.
