YAKIMA, Wash - Police Wednesday morning discovered the body of 61-year-old Charles Palmer in the bedroom of his home in Yakima.
This after Palmer's employer, Frito-Lay, called 9-1-1 after Palmer didn't show up to work two days in a row. He worked as a truck driver.
The Yakima Police Department set up a command center in front of the home on the 3400 block of Cascade Loop. Crime Scene Investigation units were in and out of the home.
It was determined Palmer died by a violent attack. Investigators also found Palmer's 1996 Chevy Tahoe was missing.
At two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon police located the vehicle at a motel in Yakima. The man they arrested there was 50 year-old Mark Huey of Yakima. An investigation shows Huey and Palmer allegedly had got into a fight on Monday night leading to Palmer's murder. After that, Huey stole the vehicle.
"My brother was a very gracious good person, he thought good of everybody, he didn't say a bad word about anybody," says Vonnie Webb, Palmer's sister, who was at the crime scene Wednesday.
