KENNEWICK, Wash.--Electronics, jewelry, even Sue Loika's Piggy bank...all gone. At some point over the last 10 days, suspects broke into a home on the 700 block of South Nelson street. They stole everything.
"Three televisions, one was a large 50-inch," says homeowner Ed Loika. There were four DVD players and recorders missing. There were a lot of guns missing. I had a gun safe in the house."
A safe that weighed around 250 pounds. Almost impossible, said Loika, for one person to move it. He believes he knows how the caper went down.
"They backed up on the grass up to the roses right here," mentions Loika. And then I think they went around back."
That's where they found a doggy door. Once inside, the suspects ransacked the entire home.
"They made a total mess in the house," adds Loika. Every drawer in the bedroom had been pulled out and dumped on the floor. They flipped the mattress over, looking under there. They stole my computer monitor."
Loika's garage contains the few belongings left behind. His fishing rods were stacked against a workbench. Thieves also started filling a trash can with tools.
"You feel like you've been violated," says Loika. They not only stole a lot of things but they made such a mess in there."
