Police Still Looking for Suspect on Armed Robbery at Tumbleweeds

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Around 7:30p.m. on Saturday two employees inside Tumbleweeds on Morain reported seeing a man enter the store through the back door.

They told police the man was wearing a mask and beanie over his face. Inside the store he also showed a dark colored handgun at the employees, took an undisclosed amount of cash and then walked away the same way he came in.

Police say there seems to be a trend of violent crime happening nationally, and the Tri-Cities is not safe from this type of crime.

"It's something that we have to be prepared for, we definitely don't like seeing it and we're doing everything we can to combat this issue," said Sergeant Chris Walters, of the Kennewick Police Department.

Police are still looking for the suspect. He is being described as a White or Hispanic male. Standing between 5'8 to 5'10 tall and weighing between 160 to 180 pounds.

Kennewick police are asking anyone with more information to call Crime Stoppers at 586-TIPS (586-8477). Remember you can remain anonymous.

Police say there is no connection between this armed robbery and the one that happened at Pizza Hut on Deschutes the other week.
