KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A home burglary in Kennewick over the holidays left a family without most of their belongings and police searching for stolen guns.
Among the jewerly and electronics, there were also several guns taken. Ed and Sue Loika spent the holidays in Mexico and sometime over the 10 days of vacation their home was broken into.
This home invasion is still under investigation, and police say the missing guns bring several concerns.
"Typically these guns can be traded for narcotics, used in crimes, pawned, and just a variety of things," said Sergeant Chris Walters, of the Kennewick Police Department. "We don't like seeing them get into the wrong hands," he said.
So they do not end up in the wrong hands police are still looking for leads to find out who broke into the home. Also stolen was a safe that weighed around 250 pounds.
Police say a neighbor saw a dark colored suburban style vehicle in the Loika's driveway just a few days ago. If you have any information on this burglary call the Kennewick police.
