PASCO, Wash.-- It was a red carpet event at the Tri-Cities airport to welcome back Terex Adams. An army soldier getting back from Iraq who's finally meeting the latest addition to his family.
Just three weeks ago Austin Michael Adams, his first son, was born. Family members and ACES volunteers were at the airport to give him the welcome back cheer he deserves.
His wife says Terex has been stationed at Camp Anaconda since October last year and it is good to have him home with baby Austin. She also says this homecoming is an even bigger surprise for another member of the family.
"His mom actually doesn't know he's flying in," said Whitley Adams, Terex's wife. "We're going to surprise her, so we're going to her house and we're going to surprise her," she said.
"Well I promised her I would change diapers, so I will change at least one," said Terex Adams.
He will be changing diapers and we're holding him to it. This soldier will be home for just 15 days before he has to go back to Iraq.
But for now he's glad to be home and be able to finally hold his son close to him. He says seeing Austin in pictures doesn't compare to the excitement of seeing him right in front of him.
