OLYMPIA, Wash.- Monday Washington lawmakers will convene in Olympia for a 60 day session, and a supplemental budget is the main item on the agenda.
Governor Gregoire's proposed adding $234 million in spending to the already, two-year $33 billion, that was approved last year. She's also proposed additional spending for flood relief, firefighting, patient safety and monitoring sex offenders.
One dispute may be how much to keep in reserves. Democrats want at least one billion, but republicans argue the budget should be cut so more money can be put into savings.
