DOWNTOWN YAKIMA, Wash.- Local wineries are buying into the vision of a revitalized downtown Yakima, and the handful of wineries already downtown are excited about it.
"We're thrilled to see more wineries head our way. It's going to be an economic boom, and help get downtown Yakima on the map," Katherine Goodson of Kana Winery.
On November 2nd of last year, Massett Winery opened it's door on Yakima Avenue, and says business has been great.
"The more wineries in downtown Yakima, the merrier," said Tim Cook, co-owner of Massett Winery.
Withing a couple of months Plaza Socievole will be moving in next door to Kana Winery downtown, in the old Dunbar Jewelers building.
There's also talk of Gilbert Cellars coming to downtown Yakima, but the Committee for Downtown Yakima couldn't confirm when or what location the winery is looking at.
