Tri-Cities Cancer Center Hosting Meeting on HPV & Cervical Cancer
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-Cities Cancer Center is hoping people take advantage of an opportunity to learn more about H.P.V. and cervical cancer.
The Human Papillomavirus is a sexually transmitted disease that in some cases can cause cervical cancer.
On Thursday the center will host a free information meeting to explain how to detect it and prevent it. Center representatives advise cervical cancer is something we need to become more comfortable talking about.
"Remember a little while ago we were scared to talk about breast cancer. Now there are pink ribbons everywhere and people are talking about it all the time and we need to bring this topic into that forefront the same way and not be afraid of it," said Linda Moran, Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
The meeting starts Thursday at Noon in the Wellness Center at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center in Kennewick. To reserve a seat call 737-3420.
