RICHLAND, Wash. -- The Seattle Mariners Caravan swung into Kadlec Medical Center today as part of the club's Get Well Tour.
Longtime Mariners pitcher and current bullpen coach Norm "The Sheriff" Charlton visited Kadlec with relief pitchers Mark Lowe and Eric O'Flaherty.
Charlton taught the younger Mariners the technique for holding babies as they visited new mothers. He also explained to them just how important Mariner visits are.
Charlton says, "If we can go to a hospital bring light and cheer today, as short as that joy may be, it's good for us and it's good for them."Eric O'Flaherty is a Walla Walla native. He is returning home tonight as the Mariners Caravan visits the Sherman Center at Whitman College.
