Yakima, WA - An artist have finished painting a big mural behind Franklin Park in Yakima.
The property owner, Gary Syboutz, came up with a creative solution to a recurring graffiti problem he had on the wall beneath his home.
He hired an artist from Undercut Design in Union Gap to paint a giant mural.
It's taken three months to finish.
The mural shows different nature scenes that are inspired by the Yakima Valley, as well as one of his classic cars.
"Well, I'm pleased with this mural and I hope that it makes an attraction to the area," says Syboutz, "You know the park is a nice setting and we just didn't want to have a black wall out here and graffiti all over it, so maybe this might deter that."
Syboutz says that the mural has been clear coated so if taggers do come by to do graffiti, he should be able to wipe it away.
But the artist told us that some taggers have already come by and said they won't touch the mural.
