KENNEWICK, Wash. - it may be a while before the 3A schools and 4A schools figure out who's playing where next season.
Unlike the thee Kennewick schools, hanford has decided to remain in 3A.
On Thursday, Hanford AD Tom Hegarty told KNDU they've applied to join the new 4A league but wants Hanford be considered 3A for postseason purposes.
They would compare their record with the other 3A schools in the state to see which ones make the post season
Sunnyside is waiting to see what the other 4A schools finally do, and is also exploring joining the CWAC.
They may play 2A's as a 3A school, similar to what Hanford would do in their scenario.
Area athletic directors say that it's a tricky situation and there's still a lot left to be determined.
