PASCO, Wash. - The Planning Commission meeting in Pasco was packed Thursday night.
The IRI Sun Willows Association has filed a petition asking for a special permit for an open air pavilion to be built near the golf course.
The Association would like to have more golf tournaments and events at the Sun Willows Golf Course.
A number of people that live in the Sun Willows community attended a required public hearing objecting the ideaThursday night.
They expressed concerns about increased traffic, trash, parking, decreased property values and noise.
Organizers in support of the project said it would be a positive facility for the City of Pasco and could generate money.
They also dispute concerns about noise and parking.
The Planning Commission will now meet among themselves and give a recommendation to the City Council.
The Sun Willows community is made up of many senior citizens.
