PASCO, Wash.- Members of Pasco's Morning Star Baptist Church opened their doors for their annual MLK celebration Monday.
About 100 people turned out for song, memories and a guest speaker from Yakama.
The church holds this celebration annually, and as usual, it drew more than just their usual members.
The theme for the day was "Remember, Celebrate, Act."
"Why we're here? We're here because of a great man, and god blessed us with him during that time and we just want to praise him for that," Sister Ruby Jones said.
The event was expected to last more than an hour with more than 10 people scheduled to speak in remembrance of Doctor King.
Those who gathered say the annual celebration is a meaningful way to remember the late Doctor King and continue fighting for equality.
