Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA -- Yakima police did not originally issue any charges after a woman accidently fired a gun, but tonight, they say there may be charges.

The accidental shooting happened at Jackson's Sports Bar in Yakima Sunday afternoon. Police say a woman accidently fired a gun that was in her boyfriend's jacket. She shot herself in the calf and was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Origonally, police did not press any charges, but now, KNDO learns the man who owns th gun is a convicted felon.

Yakima police say it is illegal for him to carry a gun and it is also illegal to have a gun in a bar. A Captain with the Yakima Police Department says the man could face significant jail time, and it may take a few weeks before he is officially charged.
