4-Year-Old Dies In Tragic Sledding Accident Monday Afternoon Near Cle Elum
CLE ELUM, Wash. - A four-year-old Ellensburg boy died on Monday afternoon during a sledding trip with friends and family.
Kittitas county sheriff's deputies report 4-year-old Henry Hyatt crashed into a concrete pump-house at the bottom of a large hill at Sky Meadows which is four miles southeast of Cle Elum.
Witnesses tried to give him CPR.
He was taken to a nearby hospital but died around 3:30 Monday afternoon.
Hyatt was sledding with his 8-year-old brother Tommy. Deputies report that Tommy suffered minor injuries.
The child was pronounced dead after almost three hours of living saving efforts.
Undersheriff Clayton Myers released a press release stating that the "investigation indicates that this was a very unfortunate accident and our prayers go out to Jenna and Gary Hyatt, the two boy's parents."
