Rod's House in Yakima Receives Local Grants, Could Open Sooner Than Planned
YAKIMA, Wash.- Thanks to a handful of generous grants and local donations, Rod's House in Yakima could be opening sooner than planned. Rod's House will be a homeless youth resource center.
We're told about $50,000 is being spent to fix it up. Originally, we were told the remodel plans were on hold because of a shortage in funds. Rod's house was about $20,000 short of the money needed to get the place fixed up and ready to go. Just recently three $15,000 grants have been donated, and it could push the opening up atleast three months.
Rod's House is still looking for volunteers and donations. If you'd like to get involved, call Barb Greco at A Better Tomorrow, (509) 576-3606.
