Richland Man Arrested After Police Said He Attacked His Wife and Made Threats

RICHLAND, Wash. - A man was tased and arrested in Richland after a violent domestic situation.

Richland Police report that 47-year-old Mark Monroe refused to obey officers and was tased near the 1500 block of Johnston Street at 8 o'clock Tuesday night.     

Police were called because his wife said he threatened her with a knife, tried to strangle her and threatened to burn the house down.     

Police say Monroe was drunk.     

He was taken to Kadlec Medical Center and then the Benton County Jail.     

Police said a survival knife was taken from the scene.

Monroe was arrested for assault in the second degree.
