YAKIMA, Wash - More than 100 volunteers hit the streets of Yakima County Thursday. It was a part of the Point In Time survey conducted by the Yakima County Homeless Network. The results will show what the needs for the homeless in Yakima County are.
The volunteers were also giving out bags with food, water, and warm clothes in them.
"This is going to help, I can put all this in my bag and hopefully I can find a good warm spot to be tonight," said one of the homeless who were approached by the volunteers.
Surveys and gifts were given out in most cities throughout the Yakima Valley Thursday. All the results from this year's survey will be available in March. They will then be submitted to the State's Department of Housing and Urban Development.
