Kennewick Police Department Scheduled To Move Locations This May
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick Police are getting ready to move locations.
This May they will go from their current facility on Dayton Street to a new building across the street from City Hall.
Friday afternoon the Chief, Detectives and Administrators got a tour of the work done so far.
The new building is 46 thousand square feet.
It will be much bigger than their current building.
Kennewick Captain Scott Child said it will benefit the entire community. He said, "Because now we're going to have the proper space to serve the public. We are very excited about this without a doubt this is going to improve our service to the public."
Child said they will have more room to interview criminals and victims.
They will also be able to do more training at the facility.
The building they are currently in was only supposed to be a temporary location.
There will be tours offered to the public in the future.
