YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima police arrested a man late Sunday night after he shot a pistol at his girlfriend.
At about 9:30, officers received a call indicating that a 43-year old female had been shot by her boyfriend, age 41, on the 1000 block of South 8th Avenue.
Police say the victim came home to find her boyfriend firing a pistol into the air outside their home. According to her report, the man threatened to shoot her if she tried to enter the house.
She went in to get some things, intending to leave for the night. Officers say that is when her boyfriend fired a shot at her, but it missed.
The victim then escaped from the house and called police.
The man was booked into the Yakima County Jail for attempted first-degree murder.
