BENTON CITY, Wash. - Old rusty cars are cluttering up yards in Benton City, some are saying it's time to retire the cars and recycle them.
Benton City Economic Development Council member Randy Rutledge says these cars not only create an eye sore for people, but could lower property values and be bad for the environment.
Rutledge has joined up with Harold Mason, owner of "Hulk Hauler," a vehicle and scrap removal business to de-junk peoples yards in Benton City.
Now retired Mason is dedicating his days to recycling these rust ridden clunkers. Since he started hauling away unwanted and useless cars, he's taken over 140 vehicles out of the community to be recycled.
If you know of a car that needs to be recycled, you can contact Harold Mason at 531-7580, 531-0046 or 588-3070. You can also call Randy Rutledge at 947-7332.
Mason says he'll haul your car away for free, but if you live outside of Benton City, he might charge you for gasoline costs.
