Granger Spartans Deal With a Big "Problem"Posted: Updated:
GRANGER, Wash - The Granger Spartans have a problem on their hands: they have too many fans! You read correctly, the Spartans have so many people show up to their games they had to come up with a creative solution so they would've have to turn fans away at the door.
The fans start lining up around 3:30 to get tickets for the night and make sure they've got a seat because once it gets closer to game time there isn't a seat to be found! Even the wrestling team gets turned away from the main gym when looking for seats because there are just too many people in there!
So what were the Spartans to do? Well, they decided to wire up a few cameras to televisions in the cafeteria. Then, once the gym itself was sold out, they started selling tickets at half price and let fans sit in the cafeteria and watch the game on the t.v's they had wired to cameras in the gym!
"It's pretty awesome," says junior basketball player Austin Carpenter. "We have pretty limited seating so it just gets packed. It helps every body get pumped up!"
R.J. Solis, a senior on the Spartans basketball team, says "I guess everyone just wants to come see us play!"
The fans especially want to see those Granger girls play; the girls team is currently ranked 6th in the state by the Seattle P.I. Both the boys and girls teams end their regular season this Thursday at home against Highland.
