Man Trapped in Silo in Ellensburg has been rescued
ELLENSBURG, Wash - Sheriff's Deputies and Kittitas Valley Fire Rescue Rescued a 65 year old man who fellen into a 35 to 40 foot grain silo just north of the Thrall & Canyon Road intersection in Ellensburg.
Sheriff's Deputies received a call at 11:21 Tuesday afternoon saying that Dan Brunson, the owner of the company, Dan's Grain, had fallen into the silo.
Brunson is being taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He suffered hypothermia. One of the primary concerns was that grain is similar to quicksand, the more you move the worse it gets, so rescuers had to be sure the were not putting him in more danger.
