Ellensburg, WA -  An Ellensburg man has been rescued after spending four and a half hours trapped in a grain silo on Canyon Road.

Kittitas Valley Search and Rescue pulled 66-year-old Dan Brunson through a whole that was cut out in the silo just before 4:00pm this afternoon.

Brunson had been loading grain into the silo when something got stuck.  He climbed up to fix it and then fell in.

"It was really tough on the family outside and it was tough on my husband - his son, who was inside the silo with him, trying to keep his spirits up and keep the grain away from him," says Jackie Brunson, the victim's daughter in-law.

Brunson had been trapped in grain up to his neck.

He's been treated and released from Yakima Memorial Hospital
