RICHLAND, Wash. - Four men are in the Benton County Jail after robbing a 16-year-old-boy.
It happened on Casey Street in Richland Wednesday afternoon. Police say the boy was walking when he was approached by two teenagers. They asked him if he had a phone they could use.
The suspects then demanded the boy's PlayStation Portable (PSP), saying they had a gun.
"I always tell people to prioritize your personal safety over any possession that you may have," says Captain Mike Cobb, Richland police. So we would encourage people not to resist. Just be a good witness, get a good physical description and let law enforcement handle it."
Police say the victim refused to give up his PSP and was later pushed to the ground, then punched and kicked. Two other suspects were in a nearby vehicle and seen holding the electronic device.
The boy was treated by paramedics but didn't go to the hospital.
