YAKIMA, Wash - The Black Rock Reservoir Project is getting some much-needed help despite recent reviews.
The Yakima Association of Realtors donated $55,000 Thursday to help get the project approved by Congress. For years groups have been pushing for a $4,000,000,000 proposal to build a reservoir in the Black Rock Canyon near Yakima.
Last week, a study was released saying the reservoir wouldn't give the government enough of a return on their investment.
"If we don't invest for our future we're limited to our past and that is not good. We've been fighting over water for the last 70 years, this gives us a future," says Charlie De La Chapelle with the Yakima Basin Storage Alliance.
This Decemeber the project will be presented to Congress.
