Sexual Abuse Response Center Offers Help For Victims In Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The statistics for victims of sexual abuse are alarming.
According to the Sexual Assault Response Center one in every three girls and one out of every five boys will be sexually assaulted by the time they are 16.
That is why SARC is offering support groups for victims.
February 7 there are two programs being offered, one for men and one for girls.
SARC Representative Anna Hahn said sexual abuses raises a lot of emotions for everyone involved. She said, "Probably everyone's biggest question is why? Why did this happened and chances are the predator wouldn't be able to answer that."
Hahn said talking about being victimized and realizing that there are other victims is a good way to cope.
The groups meet once a week for the next six weeks.
The class for men is every Thursday and the one for girls meets on Wednesdays.
