Skiers Left With No Weekend Plans

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. -- With nowhere to go many skiers are left with no plans for the weekend.

KNDO caught up with a few skiers today at the Sporthaus store in Yakima. They seem to be taking the news okay, that's because deep down they are still hoping the pass will open in time for the weekend.

Business at Sporthaus has remained steady today especially with ski rentals. A lot of people have actually been returning rentals they never used.

Sporthaus also had to cancel their ski bus that runs every weekend bringing people to and from White Pass.

Workers and customers have been waiting anxiously all day hoping to get the news that the pass has opened.

"I kind of expected it to be open last night and then being closed again today and then they hoped by noon," said store owner, Sig Fossum. "Now they are just hoping to have it open by the weekend."

"I'm hoping the pass gets cleared so I can go up sat," said skier Gerri Hyndman.
