Good news for drivers this morning, both Snoqualmie Pass and White Pass were back open today.
The mounds of snow piled along the side of Highway 12 give you an idea of how much snow crews up there have been dealing with and the amount of work it must have taken to clear the roads.
The sound of traffic has not been heard here at White Pass in almost four days.
We stopped at a gas station across from the ski mountain where we caught up with a few drivers who were glad the pass finally reopened.
Deffy Olveda is moving from Rainier Oregon to Billings Montana. He has been anxiously watching the pass waiting to get his loaded U-haul on the road.
"I was going to leave two days ago and that storm came through and kind of delayed my travels a little bit," Olveda says. "Today was actually the most clear day that looked like I was going to get for a bit so I'm trying to brave it to see how far I get before I get stuck."
Wilma Smale commutes to work in Yakima over White Pass a couple times a week. Once she heard the pass opened she didn't waste any time. "I wanted to get over before it got closed," said Smale.
D.O.T advises drivers on any of the passes to plan ahead and take it slow.
