SEATTLE (AP) - Get ready for a lot of NCAA basketball tournament action in the Pacific Northwest over the next three years.
The NCAA announced Tuesday that the University of Washington would be a host site for the first- and second-round of the NCAA women's tournament in 2009 and 2010. Washington last hosted the women's tournament in 2005 (first- and second-round); and 2004 (regional semifinals and final).
The announcement only adds to a full slate of scheduled tournament games in the Northwest. Spokane is hosting a 2008 women's regional, while Boise, Idaho and Portland, Ore. are hosting men's first- and second-round games in 2009. Spokane is also scheduled to host the men's first- and second-round in 2010.
