First we got snow, then came some flooding and now many county roads are in danger of being damaged.
Because of all the wet weather the asphalt became wet as did all of the ground underneath, making the road extremely susceptible to damage.
When heavy loads travel on the wet ground it can cause groves, dips and sinking in the road. Because of that the Benton County Department of Public Works has put weight and load restrictions on all roads and closed others due to the deteriorating road conditions.
What this means is truck drivers, who haul agricultural products or products for construction like concrete and lumber for new homes in the area, have had to downsize their loads or not deliver at all.
