Terrace Heights Residents Shaken After Second Shooting in 4 Months

Posted: Updated:

TERRACE HEIGHTS, Wash. -- It's the second shooting to happen in terrace heights in less than a year. The first shooting happened during a robbery attempt  on November 8th of last year.

Today one man is dead and two men are under arrest after an attempted home invasion on the opposite side of town.

Shots rang out late this morning in an upscale neighborhood in Terrace Heights.

Police say three men entered the house when the owner was home. They exchanged gunfire killing one of the men while the other two fled on foot.

The two suspects were later arrested and are in police custody. Even with the arrests residents in Terrace heights are a little on edge tonight.

"Well you don't think that things like that happen in the neighborhood where you live," one resident said. "I was surprised and so I immediately sat down to watch the news to see what happened."

Another resident said, "It's a pretty nice neighborhood and for me to hear about that it just kind of made me think 'whoa' you know so close to home."

Police aren't releasing any information on the homeowner or the two suspects tonight, and we will not know the victims name until the next of kin is notified.

They do tell us they believe the home invasion was drug related.

Both today's shooting and the shooting last November remain under investigation.
