Chiefs Snap Americans' Win Streak

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Americans have lost only six games at Toyota Center all season. The problem...the Spokane Chiefs have three of them.

David Rutherford scored two goals and Dustin Tokarski stopped 22 shots as the Spokane Chiefs (40-13-1-5, 86 pts) upset the Tri-City Americans (44-13-1-2, 91 pts) 3-1 in front of 5,857 fans in Kennewick. For the Chiefs, the win snapped their four-game losing streak and atoned for an embarrassing 7-2 loss to the Americans last week. Meanwhile, the loss ended the Americans' nine-game winning streak. Adam Hughesman scored the lone goal for Tri-City, while Chet Pickard collected 23 saves in the loss.
