RICHLAND, Wash.-- Richland police received a call early Saturday morning saying that a man had been stabbed multiple times and had been taken to Kadlec Medical Center.
Brian Lowery suffered stab wounds to the stomach and back and had two surgeries before police were even notified. Police say Lowery was involved in a fight at a house party on 1517 Marshall Road in Richland.
During the fight, Lowery was stabbed twice with a 4 inch buck knife by 32-year-old John Pryor. Lowery was taken to Kadlec with life-threatening injuries but should be released within the next couple days.
Police say the two men got in an argument because Lowery had a tattoo of a rival gang.
"Alcohol is involved in the majority of any case where there's an assault, because things escalate so fast, some of the other people there even admitted that it was a minor situation and it should have never got that far," said Sergeant Scott Morrell, with the Richland Police Department.
Police say a third suspect, Jeremiah Brooks was also stabbed. Police think he might have tried to stop the fight.
They say Brooks tried hiding the knife at a home on the 1400 Block of Richie Court. Brooks was treated and released from Kadlec.
Both Brooks and Pryor have been booked into Benton County Jail on charges of assault and rendering criminal assistance.
