Autopsy Results For Fatal Accident at the Pasco Airport
PASCO, Wash.-- 65-year-old William "Bill" Talbott was working construction at the Pasco airport on Saturday morning. He was standing at the edge of a trench when it collapsed.
Franklin county coroner has ruled the cause of his death accidental Asphyxiation. Talbott fell and was covered under two to three feet of wet sand.
The coroner says this was an unexpected accident that has taken a toll on friends and family.
"Of course they're devastated, you know this is something that is unusual, a work related accident so we informed the Department of Labor and Industries and they'll be investigating it further," said Franklin County Coroner Dan Blasdel.
The coroner also says a co-worker was able to get Talbott's face uncovered, but he was still not breathing. Once medics arrived, they finally got his body out and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Family friends say Talbott was just a couple of days away from his retirement party scheduled for tomorrow.
