More women working through pregnancy

Posted: Updated:

There's a new trend in working women, The new trend is working through pregnancies.

A study done by the US Census Bureau shows 2/3 of women between 2001 and 2003 worked during their pregnancy as opposed to just 44% who gave birth between 1961 and 1965.

With 85% of those working women staying at their job all the way up to a month or less before their due date. Women are also returning back to work sooner than they used to. One working mom we spoke with says she's not surprised with the new stats ... she was one of them.

Tiffany Flager, Sales Associate, says part of the reason she worked was finances and the other part was that she already had her position before she had kids and she didn't want to lose her momentum.

She says she sees this trend with her own group of friends. Women starting their families later and already being career oriented are more likely to want to stay at work as long as possible and return back as soon as they can.
