TOPPENISH, Wash. -- A robbery attempt at a Toppenish convenience store was foiled Monday evening.
At about 7 p.m., police say a man wearing a ski mask entered the store on the 100 Block of East Toppenish Avenue. The man pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, but the clerk noticed the gun was just a BB gun.
When the clerk confronted the suspect on his observation, the suspect ran out of the store, hopped on a BMX bicycle and pedaled away. The suspect could only be described as a male, wearing a brown sweashirt and blue jeans.
The robbery attempt was the second in the same area in the last two weeks.
On Febraury 13th, the Valley View Market, which is also on East Toppenish Avenue, was robbed by two men who got away with cash and beer.
